Malvasia nera Vine

Probably of Greece origin, the Malvasia nera is spread in Apulia and especially in Salento with two different varieties: Leccese and Brindisina. It’a a red grape variety, with a medium and serrated cluster, a medium and spheroid-shaped berry, a pruinose and consistent skin. The wine is bright ruby red with intense and complex aromas and an harmonious, velvety and alcoholic taste. It is used in low percentage from 5 to 20% in the Apulian DOP wine: Alezio, Copertino, Gioia del Colle, Leverano, Lizzano, Salice Salentino and Squinzano.
